I originally tried the Lacey around a year ago in a 36J, which I thought was my size at the time. I could not get it to work for me no matter how hard I tried, which was very frustrating as I loved the design and look of this bra.
When I was offered this one to try on
in Leia I felt rather dubious but gave it a go anyway – and I was
very glad I did! We tried several different sizes but I ended up
with a 30K:
I absolutely adore how this bra looks.
The cream and beige colours work so well together and under clothing
this works well as a nude bra. The materials are incredibly soft and
even the lace parts are delicate and gentle on the skin. The pattern
on the cups is really pretty and makes for a very girly but subtle
bra.
There are two cute little buttons on
the central gore and tiny bows on the front of the straps where they
meet the cups. I do love these little touches on lingerie – it can
make all the difference and adds femininity.
The 30K was a great fit on me
band-wise. It felt firm but not too tight, meaning that it should
last me for a long time. It fastens with three rows of three hooks
and eyes.
The K cups were good but if it were
possible I think I would have fitted better into a 30KK or L.
Unfortunately for me, Freya bras stop at a K cup, which is really
excellent for most people but I either had to compromise on the fit
of the band or of the cup to make this style work for me, and in the
end I decided the band was most important to get right.
The straps were very comfortable as
they are thicker than some of my other bras and made from a lovely
soft fabric. They only adjust halfway but on me that was absolutely
fine.
I found the wires at the central gore sometimes would not lie flat but at other times they would so perhaps this is a fit issue on me. There was also a little wrinkling at the bottom of the cups on occasion (as you can see from the pictures), which is strange as the cups fit me well and if anything were slightly on the small side.
I do find that Freya bras give me a
little more coverage than I would usually like as I tend not to wear
high necked clothing so I hope that in the future they consider
making large cupped bras in styles which are a bit more revealing. I
understand that it can be hard to engineer a supportive, lower cut
bra in larger cups but I know other companies have achieved this so
fingers crossed Freya provides more options in the future.
This really is a lovely bra which will
serve well for everyday wear.
I also tried the Freya Lauren - read my review here.
