Marisota Magisculpt Leopard Print Jersey Dress

As you will be well aware by now, I am a fan of bodycon dresses.  I love the way they follow each and every curve of my body and show off my hourglass shape perfectly.  I was recently approached by online shopping brand Marisota to review an item for them and of course I chose a bodycon dress:

The Magisculpt Leopard Print Jersey Dress.

Yours Clothing Lycra™ Xceptionelle Hosiery 40 Denier 3D Tights

I am always on the lookout for new hosiery and shapewear to try.  Day to day, I usually wear my beloved Sweet Nothings Get The Skinny Shaping Leggings, but, depending on the season, event and outfit, leggings are not always appropriate so I try to keep a good selection of other items which can do the job of smoothing and shaping instead.

Tights are something I have been keeping an eye out for recently.  Here in the UK, the weather has taken a turn for the worse and it's been much colder of late.  This means that I need to wear tights when wearing a skirt or dress so I was really pleased when Yours Clothing got in touch to offer me a pair of tights to review.

Panache Cleo Zia Bra 32J

It's been a little while since I did a lingerie post (and I know some readers have been missing them!) so when the lovely people at Panache got in touch to ask me to review something from their latest collection I was absolutely over the moon!

In the past, when I have tried Panache bras I have ended up feeling disappointed.  The wide wires and shallow cups just didn't suit me, no matter how much I loved the gorgeous designs.

However, a few months back I tried the Cleo Chloe and Alexa bras in 32J and I fell in love!  Seriously - the Chloe in particular was threatening to rival my beloved Ewa Michalaks!!  I'd heard that Cleo wires were significantly narrower and the cups deeper than regular Panache bras and I found this was absolutely true.  The bras were wonderful and gave such amazing shape, uplift and support, especially for unpadded bras.

Ewa Michalak PL Bratki

As a child, my mum dressed me in blue whenever she could.  WIth my blue eyes, blonde hair and fair complexion I guess it was the natural choice but once I was older and made my own clothing choices it lead me to avoid wearing blue for a while as I'd had such an overdose.

These days, I wear clothes - and lingerie - in as many colours of the rainbow as I can.  Diversity is all good in my book.  That's one of the many reasons I love Ewa Michalak lingerie as they have such a wide range of styles and designs on offer.

I was recently offered the chance to try some of the newer PL (plunge) range and, having overcome my earlier aversion to blue, I wanted to give the PL Bratki (Pansies) a try.

Ewa Michalak PL Malwa

I hadn't owned a plain white bra for many a year until a few months ago when I got to try the Freya Lauren in white.  It's a very nice bra but it's a bit too high cut on me and my short shoulders to wear under most of my tops and dresses so when Ewa Michalak recently agreed to send me some bras for review I knew the PL Malwa had to be one of them.

Ewa Michalak PL Carmen

For a while now, I have been finding that my 36J/HH and 34J Ewa Michalak bras have been feeling too loose in the band.  This has made me sad because I love these bras so much...but wearing a bra with too loose a band is no good, regardless of how pretty it may be.  *Sob*

You can imagine my delight when Ewa very kindly agreed to send me some new bras to review.  I was thrilled to be able to try one of the bras I have lusted after for some time now: the PL Carmen.

Freya Limbo Bikini

Summer's here!  Well...August is here.  Unfortunately the weather in the UK has left much to be desired for the last few months and there have been few opportunities for people to soak up the sun at the seaside, at the park or in the garden.  That is, until this weekend when the weather has miraculously improved and we're having a mini heatwave!

The previous poor weather hasn't stopped me from poring over the latest offerings from the various lingerie companies and one of the bikinis that has caught my eye this season is the delectable Freya Limbo.

Gok Wan for Simply Be Pull Me In Pants

You may have previously read about the wonderful time I had earlier this year when I attended the launch of Gok Wan's new shapewear range for Simply Be - and I even got to meet the man himself!

Since then, the range has been expanded to include some really beautiful items.

We Love Colors Hosiery

Since I started wearing dresses and skirts around two years ago (yes, I really had spent the vast majority of my adult life wearing trousers as I believed that skirts did not suit/would not work for me), I have been a fan of tights.  I would wear black or natural shaping tights under my maxi skirts and dresses, but as I did not wear skirts any shorter than ankle length I had never considered coloured tights before now.

However, all that changed when I was at Plus North last month.  I had the opportunity to try out a few different items from the wonderful We Love Colors range, thanks to the gorgeous Toni, and I leapt at the chance.  We Love Colors sell tights, fishnet items and socks for women, men and children.  They have a specific section for Plus Size Hosiery which comprises tights, footless tights and fishnet pantyhose.

Ewa Michalak CHP Kurczak

I must admit that I have never in my life felt the need to own a yellow bra. When they started appearing in shops and online a few months ago my mind was not changed and although they were eye-catching I still did not have a great desire to have one in my possession.I was recently sent several bras by Ewa Michalak to try out and lo and behold one of these was their own yellow creation: the CHP Kurczak, which means 'Chicken' in Polish.

Ewa Michalak CHP Groszki i Róże

A little while ago, Ewa Michalak brought out a new range of bras in gorgeous Easter colourways. One of these was the CHP Groszki i Róże, which literally translates as 'Peas and Roses' - so cute!

Bravissimo Sun Seeker Bikini in Pink

Before my holiday last month, I tried out several bikinis as I was in dire need of a couple of new ones for 2012.  When I saw the Sun Seeker bikini on Bravissimo its colour jumped out at me and I knew I had to add it to my basket.

My quest for a sleep bra: Bravissimo Inspire Sports Bra in Black

For a long time, I have been looking for a sleep bra.  My definition of a sleep bra is one which is comfortable enough to wear in bed (every night if wished) and also around the house during the evenings and at weekends.

So far, I have only tried non-wired bras in my quest.  I have tried soft cup bras, sports bras, maternity bras and even a nursing bra, but nothing yet has quite hit the spot.  I have stumbled every time, with the main reason being that I don't get separation of my breasts in non-wired bras.  This has lead me to wonder if I might be able to find a wired bra which would be comfortable enough to sleep in.

Now, my Ewa Michalak bras are super comfortable.  I wear them each and every day and it's a pleasure to do so.  Rarely do they dig in, rub or give me any kind of pain or discomfort so they would be ideal to wear in bed as well.  But, as I wear them every day, I think it would be unhealthy to wear them at night as well so I am on the lookout for an underwired sleep/house bra, as well as a non-wired one.

A few weeks ago, I tried the Bravissimo Inspire Sports Bra in black.

Curvy Kate Daily Boost Bra

I got ever so excited a few months ago when I heard that Curvy Kate would soon have a padded bra available all the way up to a K cup – this is the stuff that my dreams are made of!

Elomi arrives at Debenhams

Fantastic news, lingerie fans!

Plus-sized lingerie brand Elomi have joined forces with high street giants Debenhams in order for their ranges to be sold in selected stores as well as online.  This decision was taken following customer research which revealed that the majority of plus-sized women do all their clothes/lingerie shopping online.  On top of this, many believed that fashionable lingerie sets are not available in larger sizes.  (Interestingly, just today I was having a conversation with a friend on Twitter about Elomi and said friend wasn't aware that they had such a wide range of sizes available!)

Freya Lauren Bra

On my recent trip to Leia Lingerie with Georgina, I came away with three new bras. One of these was the Freya Lauren in black.

I was also lucky enough to receive a free Lauren in white at the recent Eveden Autumn/Winter 2012 launch. Suzanne kindly gave me a black pair of the shorts in XL to match my black Lauren as they didn't have any white in stock.

Guest Post: Freya Kelly Soft Cup Bra Review

I'm really excited about this post - it's the first ever guest post to appear on CurvyWordy! Written by my lovely friend Ruth, it's a review of the Freya Kelly soft cup non-wired bra.  Read on and enjoy :-)

Freya Kelly soft cup review

A couple of weeks ago I decided to try a soft cup bra to sleep in as I was becoming fed up with my boobs getting squashed together or squashed under me when sleeping.  It’d been happening for too long so I decided I was going to rectify it!

After looking on Leia Lingerie (a fantastic website) I decided on the Freya Kelly.  I have been drawn to leopard print recently, and most other soft cups seem to be quite plain and boring, so the print and lace together look nice and different.

The bra that changed my life

The wonderful Kitty Lingerista at Undercover Lingerista is celebrating her 1 year bloggiversary by running an amazing competition on her blog.  She is asking people to write about the bra that changed their life; this is my entry.

Like many women, I spent most of my life wearing the wrong size bra.  Until very recently I hadn't had a proper fitting and, although I never used the ridiculous '+4' method to calculate my size, I know I have been wearing far too big a band for the majority of my boobified years.

I have been large-breasted since my teens and used to order bras from my mum's 'Great Universal' mail order catalogue.  Unfortunately I was limited to boring white bras as that's all that was available in my size but nonetheless I would pore over the lingerie pages wishing I could make those pretty coloured sets work for me.

Bravissimo Boudoir Beau Bra

Bravissimo have a wide range of own brand bras available on their website.  Almost a year ago I visited their store in Ealing and tried on several styles and sizes but could not find anything that really suited me.  I have now realised that this is probably because I was going for too big a band - my Ewa Michalaks have helped me become accustomed to a firmer band and now I find I am sizing down time and again.

I recently placed an order with Bravissimo for several bras and one of them was the very foxy Boudoir Beau in red/graphite.
