Pink Clove Pleated Skater Skirt With Contrast Waistband 16

Plus size brand Pink Clove has continued to go from strength to strength since its launch in 2013. Offering a range of fast fashion items in sizes 16-32, their prices are just as attractive as their garments. I own a number of Pink Clove items and still wear items I bought when the brand first launched, including my beloved Red Tartan Skater Dress.

Late last year I was sent a number of items by the lovely Pink Clove PR team, and today I am going to share with you the Pleated Skater Skirt With Contrast Waistband (now sold out in pink but was £14.00, UK sizes 16-28).

Simply Be Extra Curvy Plus Boots - Do You Get What You Pay For?

I have always had wide calves. I inherited my dad's thick rugby player legs and I have always had difficulty getting a decent fit in any kind of trousers or jeans. It doesn't help that I have a 19" difference between my waist and hips (currently at 32" and 51" respectively) but my thighs are also pretty chunky and don't like to be contained by fabrics, especially those of the non-stretch kind. My calves haven't usually caused an issue with leg wear garments, but they most certainly have with boots.

Every autumn I eagerly go to shoe shops and make online orders in a bid to find the perfect knee high boots...but every time I am sorely let down by how the boots fit me in the calf. They simply don't! I have tried all the usual suspects, including Evans, Yours Clothing, and even Duo Boots, but none have given me a perfect fit. They have either not been wide enough in the calf, or the width of the foot area has been insufficient. I know, I know...I have a very awkward body! But I strive to find a decent fit in footwear as well as in clothing, so my search for perfect boots has been a long-lasting one.

I was therefore super excited when Simply Be brought out a range of extra wide calf boots: the Extra Curvy Plus range.

Evans Pear Ultra Stretch Skinny Jeans 18

The eagle-eyed amongst you will have noticed that I have never before reviewed jeans on my blog. There is a simple reason for that: I don't wear jeans because I can't find any that fit me properly.

Yes, I know I am fussy about fit, but why shouldn't I be? The problem is, finding jeans to fit hips that are 19" bigger than the waist is a pretty tough task. Most jeans are cut to fit a 'typical' woman, and I am a million miles away from fitting into that norm. I understand that.

In the past I have considered ordering custom-made jeans over the internet as I don't think even curve-friendly brands like PZI would work for me, but I never ended up going for it as I was sceptical they'd be worth the money (I would have had to order from abroad). I also don't have a desperate need for jeans - I have a wardrobe full of gorgeous frocks; why on earth would I need jeans?! I admit that I didn't want to feel that awful disappointment when you can't find anything that fits, so for my own pride I never searched too hard and so I eventually lost any desire to own denim. An additional put off was that the fashion for jeans and trousers over the past decade has been for them to be 'hipsters', or at best low rise. Such a terrible look for pears and hourglasses, in my opinion, and something that looked absolutely awful on me. However, over the past few years I have had a number of requests from readers who wanted me to review jeans, so it has always been in the back of my mind to get around to doing so one day.

Little did I know that UK plus size fashion retailer Evans held the key to my jeans dreams: the Evans Pear Ultra Stretch Skinny Jeans (£30.00; UK sizes 14-32, in short (71cm/28"), regular (76cm/30"), and long (81cm/32")lengths):

Evans Scarlett & Jo Embellished Velvet Dress 16

I don't often get invited to very posh ceremonies or parties, but if I ever was I am not sure I'd have a dress in my wardrobe to fit the occasion. Yes, I have a ton of gorgeous dresses, but I can't think of one that would be glamorous enough for a really fancy event. Well, that recently changed when I acquired the Scarlett & Jo Embellished Velvet Dress in navy and in black.

Evans Scarlett & Jo Black Jersey Crepe Top 14 and Yellow Floral Print Prom Skirt 14

I have previously waxed lyrical on my love for Scarlett & Jo's dresses, and you can read my past reviews here. Back in the summer, they did something a bit different, and brought out their highly successful prom dresses in separates. Naturally, I was itching to try them out for myself, so I placed an order with Evans and eagerly awaited their arrival.

First of all, I tried the Black Jersey Crepe Top (was £28.00, now in the sale for just £8.00; most sizes available at the time of writing) and the Yellow Floral Print Prom Skirt (was £48.00, now on sale for just £20.00 (wowwww!!) at the time of writing in limited sizes).

Cut For Evans Navy Textured Panel Knitted Dress 14/16

Several weeks ago, high street plus size retailer Evans launched its latest 'Cut For Evans' collection. These pieces are part of an industry leading initiative that introduces a range of garments from brand new fashion designers. You can read all about it here. Sadly, I wasn't able to attend the launch myself due to prior commitments, but I did order an item from the collection to try for myself and to share with you here on my blog.

The piece I chose was the Cut For Evans Navy Textured Panel Knitted Dress (£55.00, UK sizes 14-32 (dual sized)).

Evans Scarlett & Jo Black 2 in 1 Floral Prom Dress 14

It's been quite some time since I last put fingers to keyboard (is that a correct enough way of modernising the phrase 'put pen to paper'?) to write a blog post. I am sorry for being gone for so long; it certainly was not my intention.

Evans Scarlett & Jo Cream Contrast Powerfit Dress 14

You may remember my previous review of the Evans Scarlett & Jo Powerfit dresses - I love them! My blue and my red dresses have been worn on a number of occasions and I think they're a great addition to any plus size woman's wardrobe.

Earlier this season, Scarlett & Jo added some new styles and designs to the range and I was extremely excited when they sent me the Cream Contrast Powerfit Dress (£40.00 - sizes 14-28).

Evans Live Unlimited Black Slinky Maxi Dress 14

Back in January I was fortunate enough to attend a fab event run by plus size fashion retailer Evans.  A select group of bloggers got to try on a range of items from the forthcoming collections and we were spoilt with bubbly, hors d'oeuvres and fab company.  Additionally, the Evans Shape Studio included the opportunity for us to get our hair and make-up done and pose in front of the camera in the gorgeous Evans clothing.

One of the dresses I got to try on the day was the Live Unlimited Black Slinky Maxi Dress.

Evans Scarlett & Jo Blue City Dress

You may recall a few months ago I reviewed the Scarlett & Jo Side Panel Dress from Evans. This dress was a big hit with me, both in the red/black and the blue/black colourways, as its shape worked so well on my hourglass figure.

Since then, there have been a few different colourways brought out, as well as the Blue City Dress, which has many similarities to its predecessor.
