The great news is that over the past couple of months, Ewa has released yet more stunningly beautiful collections and I was really thrilled when I received the gorgeous PL Lato to review.
Isn't it pretty? The first set I received was the PL Lato in 34/75J and thong in 48:
I fell in love with this set as soon as I opened the box. However, as you can clearly see from the photos, the bra is too small in the cups and the thong was too big. I also found the bra had quite a stretchy band so I returned both in exchange for a 70K bra and 46 thong:
As you can see, both items fitted much better this time. Success!
The bra itself has lightly padded foam cups, which also feature removable pads inside the lower half of the cups which can be used to correct asymmetry. The pictures here show me with the pads in place as I think they give me a bit of extra uplift, which I love!
The fabrics used to make this set are just lovely. I think the patterned material which features a beige background with an orangey coral and aqua floral design with splashes of fawn and white is so pretty and feminine. It is absolutely adorable and bang on trend for this season's colours and fabric designs. The patterned material extends all the way round to the back band, which is a nice touch as often manufacturers use a plain fabric for this section.
The bra features little aqua bows on the section where the straps meet the cups and a larger bow on the central gore. This colour is lovely and really brings to life what could otherwise be a far more plain-looking bra.
It really seems that Ewa has paid great attention to detail with this bra. The cups are edged with pretty lace but if you look closely you can see that behind the lace is a line of the aqua ribbon which is used for the bows. Such a nice touch!
The band is pretty stretchy and in hindsight (and having worn this bra a few times) I should have gone for the 65KK as I am already having to wear this one on tighter hooks. There are three rows of three hooks and eyes.
The straps are halfway adjustable and the front section is made from strips of elastic encased in the patterned fabric. This is something which is used more and more with Ewa's bras but I must admit I am not a fan. I adjust my straps so they are very tight and therefore the elastic inside the fabric stretches out quite quickly and I can feel how it has curled inside. Does that make sense? My preference would be for regular, fully adjustable straps, but I must admit these look prettier with the continuation of the patterned material. The adjustable section of the straps is great - it has an embellishment which means that the straps won't loosen on their own, as can so often be the case with plain straps. And I am delighted to say that the straps connect to the back band with circular rings - hurrah!
The thong is equally as pretty and well-made as the bra. The same attention to detail has been paid and in particular I love how the aqua bow on the front is offset to the left rather than being placed in the centre as usual. There is another bow on the back of the thong, centrally placed this time, which you can just about see in the sideways pictures above.
I have found this set to be so practical. It works almost as a nude set, although it wouldn't work invisibly under white due to the pattern and in particular the aqua hues. However, it was my go-to bra on my recent holiday and I felt comfortable and supported whenever I wore it. Plus with the pads in place my boobs were given that extra oomph, which was a nice bonus.
I know this set has proved very popular on the Ewa Michalak site and I hear they have run out of material so if your size is still showing as available I would highly recommend that you grab it now while you still can. It also comes in a CH version so be sure to check out all your options!
