A couple of months ago I was fitted as a 30K (or perhaps even KK if they made it) in Freya bras. I have also been wearing Ewa Michalak bras in a 32K, although I have been wondering if a 30 back would be better.
I was really thrilled when I got the chance to try out some of the latest EM designs. First up is the CH Karmelki.
At first glance you would be forgiven to thinking this is the Toffik in disguise. It looks pretty similar on the website but once you see it in real life the differences between the two become quite clear.
It's great! The fabric is very slightly lighter in colour than the Toffik and it is covered in a pretty criss-cross embroidered design. It looks so elegant and feminine and very expensive.
There are three cute buttons on top of a strip of lace along the central gore and the same strip of lace features along the tops of the cups. There are also buttons on the section where the straps meet the cups. It's a really simple feature but I like it very much - makes a nice change from bows and ribbons!
The cups are lightly padded and have removable pads which are intended to correct asymmetry. However I leave them in as they give a bit of extra uplift - great!
The CH style is different to PL in that it has a higher central gore and the cups are cut more horizontally across the tops rather than diagonally. The wires come up higher at the sides but not enough to poke. Breasts are held at the front and pushed outwards, which is a look I like very much.
As you can see, the cups are a little on the small side for me and I would love it if this bra came in a 32JJ or even K. However, as this is the largest cup available in this band size, I am willing to compromise to get this gorgeous shape.
The straps are fully adjustable and attach to the back band with circular rings - hurrah! Another positive point is that the straps have a textured layer on top which means they do not slip once adjusted. These are my favourite kind of straps from all the different ones Ewa Michalak does.
The band fastens with three rows of three hooks and eyes and felt good and firm on the loosest hooks so I am confident it will last me a long time.
The bra looks beautifully delicate but feels very strong and supportive when worn. I have found that Ewa Michalak bras with removable padding seem to have a firmer structure even without the extra pads. That's not to say the padding in the cups is thicker but somehow they are more solid and hold their shape better. This bra might be a bit bulky if you are looking for an extremely lightly padded or even unpadded bra but if this isn't a concern then it's a great option.
I absolutely adore everything about this bra - it looks amazing both on and off; it is nude so won't show under clothing; and it has removable pads for a bit of extra uplift. Yet again Ewa Michalak has produced a superb piece of lingerie. I love it!
