I tried the dresses on in store in size 14 but they were far too big on me so I got them both in size 10 and took some photos when I got home.
I'm going to review both dresses together as they are exactly the same dress, just with a different print. So, first of all, we have the blue dress:
I loved the print and colours of this dress. Blue usually suits me well and this was no exception.
And we also have the dress in black and white:
This colourway is timeless and could easily be brightened up with some colourful accessories if wished. I liked the simplicity of the monochrome colours.
The fabric was soft but reasonably see-through (you can see my PL Garden through the dress in these pics!) and was not as nice quality as other dresses I have tried recently. It was 95% polyester and 5% elastane so plenty of stretch to fit my curves, even in a size 10, but it felt rather thin and flimsy, which was disappointing.
The length of the dress was great - it came down to my knees, so a very modest length completely appropriate for work or play.
The wrapover on the skirt was one of the better I've tried lately as the part that goes underneath did not curve upwards, so if the wind blew the wrap section open there would be no risk of me losing my dignity!!
The boob room on this dress was great - the crossover on the boobs was stitched together so there was no chance of a boob popping out at an inopportune moment! The dress accommodated my boobs very well indeed thanks to the stretchy fabric and it was a relief to see that the print was not noticeably enlarged across the bust area due to my large breasts.
My pictures don't show this but each dress has a pretty diamanté brooch on the side seam at the waist. The brooch can be removed if it's not wanted but I thought this was a very nice touch which added a bit of glamour.
I decided to see what difference adding a chunky waist belt would make to the look of the black and white dress:
What a difference! The belt worked incredibly well and completely transformed the dress from a nice daytime number to something that could really have the 'wow' factor if accessorised appropriately and worn on a night out.
I thought long and hard about whether or not to keep these Print Midi Dresses, as they were a bargain at only £16 each. However, in the end I decided that they weren't quite right for me so I took them back for a refund. I do recommend giving them a try, though, as they are a great budget option for hourglass figures.
