Unfortunately this dress is no longer available on the website in green, but you can still buy it in cream and in coral for just £21.52 per dress (limited sizes).
I bought this dress several months ago so apologies for the delay in getting my review posted, but it's certainly proved a popular frock as it's already sold out.
I opted for a size 40 BB/BBB. If you're wondering what this means, you can check out the BiuBiu size guide here. Essentially, the number refers to the dress size, and the amount of Bs denote how much extra boob room the garment has. The more Bs, the more boob room there will be.
For reference, I am wearing my Ewa Michalak S Pieprzyk 32KK/70KK bra in these photos, along with some platform stiletto heels from Primark.
The Chaville is made from a very soft jersey fabric (92% cotton, 8% elastane). It has tons of stretch to it thanks to the elastane content and is machine washable so it's super easy to care for. I do find that it creases fairly easily, but then again these creases fall out pretty quickly so it hasn't been a problem for me. The colour is a lovely deep bottle green.
The sweetheart neckline is cute but I think I prefer a slightly wider/deeper scoop. I feel like the cut of this neckline makes me look a bit heavier on top, and so a neckline that shows more of my décolletage is my preference. That said, I don't think this neckline looks bad on me and it's actually nice to have a dress with a shaped neckline as it's different from the other dresses I own.
I found the boob room on this dress to be ok, but I could have done with a bit more. I am increasingly finding that the BB/BBB bust size doesn't quite work for me and I do wish BiuBiu made a BBB or even a BBB/BBBB so that I had more room in the boob area.
In this dress, the waist seam doesn't quite sit in the right place because my boobs take up more room than the cut of the dress allows. This is not a dealbreaker and as you can see the dress still looks good, but I wonder if a 42 BB/BBB might have been a better option on this occasion to give a superior fit overall.
The short sleeves are great and perfect for spring/summer/autumn. The jersey is thick but not so much that it makes me overheat, and I simply add a cardigan or shrug to cover my arms when wearing this dress on cooler days.
The skirt of the dress is a-line in shape and it skims my curves really well. Length-wise the dress just about covers my knees. The website says the dress's length is 97cm, if that helps. I personally would prefer it to be a cm or two longer as I do prefer more coverage over my knees, but it's certainly a very flattering length as it is.
A feature I am always pleased to see is pockets, and I am delighted to say that the Chaville has them, hurrah! Pockets are something that are often left out of dress design but for me they are something I look for every time.
Overall I am really pleased with the Chaville dress and I hope BiuBiu make it in other colours and even in patterned fabric in the future. I also think it would look great with long sleeves, so I hope BiuBiu read this review and take note!
