I am a complete and utter sucker for teal so it's no wonder I was drawn to this little beauty! I also adore the pattern and it reminded me quite a lot of a gorgeous dress from Asda I'd worn last Christmas. I ordered the dress in a size 14.
For reference, I am wearing my Ewa Michalak S Tęczowe Kfiaty bra 32KK/70KK in these photos, along with some Sloggi briefs and a pair of Matalan High Waist Bum and Tum 15 Denier Tights in Black (I could only find the nude ones available on the website here), with some old black heels from New Look.
The Jacquard Dress is made from a structured but stretchy fabric (50% polyester, 48% viscose, 2% elastane) that hugs curves and does not hide your figure one little bit. I'm wearing the size 14 here and as you can see it fits me almost like a second skin. If you want a less revealing fit I would recommend sizing up in this.
The dress has a round neck, which I felt very comfortable in (I don't always as sometimes they feel like they are strangling me but this one was fine). It has a featured zip at the back from the neck, but I found this was really a design feature rather than a zip of use as it really didn't open the dress up at all to help with getting it on or off.
Lengthwise the dress is on the knee on me (I am 5'5) but if I added a belt it would come up shorter. I don't think I need to add a belt with this dress but it's certainly something worth bearing in mind. If you're a regular reader of this blog you'll know how I like skirts and dresses that comfortably cover my knees so the fact that this dress didn't do so definitely marked it down for me.
The full length sleeves fitted me well and did not feel too tight or uncomfortable at all. It's pretty hard to get long sleeves these days as so many dresses have three-quarter length or elbow length sleeves, so this was a nice feature.
I felt very feminine and really quite sexy in this dress as it leaves very little to the imagination. Not by showing lots of flesh, but instead by being so incredibly form-fitting. In the end I decided this dress was just a smidgeon too fitted for me and so I returned it. I contemplated buying it in a size up but in the end I decided against it as the length is just that little bit shorter than I'd like and I didn't want to buy something that I wouldn't end up wearing. That said, it is a lovely dress and if you're a bit shorter than me or you don't mind dresses of this length I would highly recommend it to you as I am sure you will love it!
The Jacquard Dress is also available in a pink version here.
