See what I mean about the cut? The satin-y lower cup matched with the lacy upper is commonly seen on bras by brands such as Freya, Panache, and Fantasie. I was super keen to see if this bra would give me the glorious orb-like breasts that my PL, S, and SM bras provide.
I was sent the BM Gwiezdny Pył bra in size 34K/75K and matching thong in 16/44. (Note: I was sent two other bras in the same parcel: an S and a PL. These were both in a size 75KK - as requested by me - and the decision on the 75K size in this bra was made by the team at Ewa Michalak. I therefore assume that anyone looking to purchase a BM should take one cup size down from their usual PL or S bra size in this style.)
As I have been doing with all my lingerie posts lately, I have teamed the bra and thong with some hosiery and heels. On this occasion it's my black Prague Lady Microfiber Opaque Hold-ups from The Big Tights Company and black platform stiletto heels from Primark. I feel that the overall aesthetic is improved with this more complete look, and I hope you agree that I have showcased the lingerie set well.
The set is made from a very soft and shiny black fabric, which - combined with the graphite and silver patterned stretchy lace on the tops of the cups and central gore of the bra and at the sides and back of the thong - makes it appear to be almost charcoal in hue. It's really very pretty and the silver thread intertwined in the lace creates a kind of cobweb-like look.
Unlike the PL, S, and SM bras' four part cups, the BM has only three parts to each cup. When I saw this I felt slightly more cynical as to the fit and shape the bra would give me, but as you can see from the above photos there is no doubting that the BM's cut and design fits in perfectly with the other Ewa Michalak lingerie lines. The BM Gwiezdny Pył bra gives me rounded, perky breasts, without the need for any padding. I do find the unpadded cups have a fraction less support than my padded alternatives, but not so much that the BM is unwearable. In fact, it's nice to have the option of going without padding and I am sure I will wear this bra a lot in warmer weather.
As described on the EM website, the BM bra 'gathers the breasts in a way that they do not stick outside the contour of the body', and I can certainly confirm this is the case. As I have often mentioned before, my breast tissue is all at the front of my body and so the 'push everything forward' cut of Ewa Michalak bras suits me perfectly. You'll notice from my photos that when I stand facing forwards my boobs don't go out to the sides very much, but the projection is clearly seen on the sideways shots. This is the natural position of my boobs, and EM bras simply help to give them support and uplift.
I found that the cups certainly provide more coverage than the other EM styles I've tried, but not so much that the lace on the top half of the cups would show under a medium neckline. The black fabric on the lower cups is very slightly stretchy, but the lace on the tops has a lot of give and I find it useful to reposition the placement of the lace once I have scooped and swooped all of my breast tissue into the cups.
The wires of the cups are wonderfully narrow, and they encase my breast tissue perfectly both at the centre and at the sides. They are not do not dig in at all under my arms and the central gore lies flush against my sternum.
The bra has some pretty embellishments to add to its glamorous appearance. There's a medium sized black bow and diamante charm on the central gore, and there are smaller black bows at the point where the straps join the tops of the cups.
The 34/75 band on this bra is spot on for me on the loosest hooks. The band has some stretch but feels quite firm so I am confident that it will be a good fit for a while. It fastens with three rows of three hooks and eyes so I can always make it tighter when required.
The plain black straps are fairly wide, and are fully adjustable. There is looped edging along the sides of each strap so that the sliding adjuster doesn't move out of place with wear.
The matching thong - which doesn't seem to be available on the website any more - was sent to me in a size 16/44, and I must admit I found it rather on the snug side. Although the sides and back of the thong are made from that lovely, stretchy lace, the elastic band sewn along the top edge is not terribly forgiving, so I think I would have done better with an 18/46 in this instance. The thong itself is every bit as gorgeous as the bra, though, and the same soft fabrics have been used. There is a medium-sized black bow at the front centre, complete with a diamante, and a slightly smaller plain black bow at the back. The gusset is lined with cotton for comfort. I must admit that I feel pretty sexy wearing this thong; there's something about sexy black lingerie that really appeals to me!
So, my first try of a BM bra has been a great success, and this is a style I will certainly be looking to try again in the future. I would be interested to try one cup size up out of interest (and therefore the same size as I take in other EMs), to see if the fit is just as good or even a little better.
