Ewa Michalak PL Laguna Bra 36K/80K and Briefs 16/44

Although I have been very lucky to receive a number of free lingerie items from Polish brand Ewa Michalak recently, I have also bought pieces myself to add to my collection. It might seem as though I have a never-ending supply of bras, briefs, and thongs, but in fact my cup and back size in bras has changed a few times since starting this blog and I had reached a point where I had very few items that fitted correctly, so I decided to place some orders to get my hands on more beautiful lingerie!

Today I am reviewing a set I bought for myself during the Ewa Michalak pre-Christmas discount period: the PL Laguna bra and briefs.

This set appeared to be similar in design to other bras I'd tried before (PL Ametyst, PL Milady, PL Cappuccino, PL Jagodzianki), but I couldn't resist the gorgeous turquoise behind the sexy black lace. As only limited sizes were available in the sale, I ordered the bra in 36K/80K (I am currently wearing 34KK/75KK so this was a sister size up in the band) and briefs in 16/44.

The PL Laguna is a very delicate shade of turquoise; I suppose I would describe it as pastel turquoise, and it's a hue that wouldn't look out of place on swimwear. With the contrasting black lace and stretch fabrics, it is rather dramatic and looks lovely against the skin. I bet it would look fantastic on suntanned/darker skin.

I donned my black Prague Lady Microfiber Opaque Hold-ups from The Big Tights Company and some new black and gold heels from eBay, and took some snaps.

As you can see, the set looks great! It's really comfortable to wear and is made from soft fabrics so it doesn't scratch or irritate my skin.

The bra is made from lightly padded four part foam cups, which are overlaid with black lace. The bottoms of the cups have pockets that contain removable pads, which are primarily there to help correct asymmetry but can also be worn to add extra support and uplift. I am wearing the pads in these pictures and I find they make the cup just a fraction on the small side for me, but not enough to make me want to take them out! There is a large black bow with a jewelled centre on the centre gore and small black bows at the tops of the cups where they meet the straps.

As with all Ewa Michalak bras, the underwires are wonderfully narrow and encase my breasts perfectly. The central gore sits flat against my sternum and the wires are not too tall under my arms. I can safely say that Ewa Michalak's wires are the best of any brand I've tried, so if you're looking for a bra with narrow wires and deep cups look no further than EM!

The band has enough stretch to feel comfortable, but not so much that it makes it feel too loose. I am wearing the bra on the first set of hooks (there are four rows of three hooks and eyes) in these photos but since then I have been wearing it on the middle hooks as it feels more secure. This makes sense as I usually wear a 34/75 band these days so I would have ideally ordered this size but as it wasn't available at the time of the sale I took a chance on sister sizing, and I am pleased I did as I think the band may run a little small.

The wide straps are fully adjustable and have embellishments along the edges to stop the slider moving during wear. They are reasonably firm but have a bit of stretch to them so that they don't dig in painfully, and do not fold over. As I have big boobs the straps do quite a lot of work to hold my breasts up and so it might look as though the straps are hurting my shoulders but I can assure you they are not. I have quite soft flesh on my shoulders so straps on any bra tend to look as though they dig in, but I certainly wouldn't wear a bra that caused me pain.

I also took some photos whilst wearing a different pair of shoes - these ones are from Primark.

The Laguna briefs are made in the same soft materials as the bra and are perfect on me in a size 16/44. There is a black bow with a jewelled centre on the front centre of the briefs. I can't help but love the sheer backside - such a cheeky touch! The rise is the ideal height for briefs and I don't feel I need to keep pulling them up or worrying that I've revealed too much.

I absolutely adore the Laguna lingerie set and it's already become a favourite of mine. I wonder what colourways Ewa Michalak might try in this design in the future - what would you like to see?
